The celebrity priest Fr. Chad Ripperger had his ministry restricted as early as 2025. An investigation published by his critics at WherePeterIs.com on October 20 documents earlier restrictions Fr Ripperger by the Archdiocese of Denver. Fr Ripperger is known for attributing various psychological conditions, temptations, and behaviors to demonic influence. He has associated named demons with abortion, homosexuality, sloth, and other matters, and has described obtaining information about demons by questioning them during alleged exorcisms. In a 2018 lecture, Ripperger claimed that cases of bipolar disorder were actually cases of demonic obsession. Then-Archbishop Samuel Aquila of Denver initiated an investigation in March 2025. Worse than Germany: Milan Archdiocese offers Buddhism course ahead of World Youth Day. Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad, Prefect of the Dicastery for interreligious dialogue, visited the BAPS Hindu temple in London on 19 October, receiving a ceremonial welcome from Hindu religious leaders. He received a flower garland and toured the temple’s "sacred" spaces. Cardinal Koovakad also participated in the traditional Indian lamp-lighting ceremony, commonly called Deep Prajwalan. The ritual is performed at Hindu religious and cultural events. The gathering concluded with meditation and prayer [to whom?]. Koovakad also spoke of establishing “standards of discernment together” through interreligious dialogue.

The Vatican has publicly addressed the long-running case of Argentine priest Carlos Miguel Buela, founder of the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE). The case began formally in May 2020, when Cardinal Santos Abril y Castelló established a Special Penal Tribunal to examine allegations against Buela. After hearing the accused, his lawyer and numerous witnesses, the tribunal issued its judgment on 20 July 2021. It found that Buela had committed offences against the sixth commandment in relation to five male members of the Institute. Buela appealed.
