Even as pope, Leo XIV uses his time to help his family with everyday problems. His brother John Prevost recently bought a new computer but could not get it to work properly. He called his brother at the Vatican, who explained step by step how to solve the problem. John also revealed that Leo XIV helped him with his tax return last year. In an interview with Italian broadcaster TG5 for Leo XIV’s 71st birthday today, John Prevost spoke about his brother’s life as pope. The brothers last met in July, when John joined Leo XIV during his summer stay at Castel Gandolfo. They spent ten days together, much of it at the papal summer residence. John said they relaxed by the pool, read books, took naps, watched television and went swimming. Leo XIV also took his relatives to several monasteries and showed them where he lives in the Vatican. Asked how Leo XIV is coping with his new role, John said his brother “hasn’t collapsed.” He described him as facing the situation with humor, strength and …More

A fascinating and disturbing article: “Making All Religions One.” The article traces the rise of modern ecumenism and argues that the movement was not simply a spontaneous theological development, but was also influenced by powerful American foundations, political interests, and even the psychological-warfare apparatus of the U.S. national-security establishment. One of the most intriguing figures is Henry Kissinger, who in the 1950s was involved in the Rockefeller Brothers Fund’s Special Studies Project, where Jesuit theologian John Courtney Murray was brought into discussions concerning America’s future. Murray had previously been censured by Rome (good Catholic popes), yet later became an important theological influence at the Second Vatican Council. The article then follows Murray’s remarkable transition from being silenced by Rome to becoming one of the influential voices in the development of Dignitatis Humanae. It also points to the young Karol Wojtyła, as another important …More

The Spiritual Battle for True Womanhood Fr. Altier emphasizes women's inherent value and strength, particularly mothers, highlighting their unique role in creation as the closest beings to God because of their capacity for love. He expresses concern about societal attitudes towards women, particularly in light of a recent case where a woman killed her children, arguing that such actions are a rejection of their divine purpose and a consequence of extreme ideologies. He criticizes the notion that women should have absolute power over life and death, drawing parallels to the biblical story of Adam and Eve and the temptation to be like God. He further states that the decline of society and the church is linked to the erosion of women’s morality, which is seen as the foundation of both. Satan has deceived women into rejecting their true nature and embracing a masculine ideal, leading to societal imbalance and anger. Women are urged to embrace their femininity, reject Satan’s lies, and live …More
“JUST ONCE” CAN BECOME A PRISON: A POWERFUL WARNING TO YOUNG PEOPLE | SG News Actor, filmmaker and Catholic activist Eduardo Verástegui is drawing attention with a strong message urging young people not to experiment with drugs. His warning focuses on a decision that can initially appear harmless: trying a substance “just once.” Verástegui argues that experimentation can gradually develop into repeated use and, for some people, dependence and addiction — affecting physical health, mental wellbeing, relationships, family life and a person’s future. Modern addiction science supports the seriousness of that concern. According to the U.S. National Institute on Drug Abuse, repeated drug use can alter brain systems involved in reward, stress and self-control. Over time, those changes can contribute to compulsive drug use even when a person understands that the behavior is causing harm. Addiction, however, should not simply be dismissed as a lack of character or willpower. Medical experts …More
