The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith published today the procedure for the “reconciliation” with the Vatican of former clergy of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX), together with a separate procedure for lay faithful. (Full Italian document below). The procedure, effective July 1, 2026, provides that a priest who has decided to leave the FSSPX must be willing to accept the Second Vatican Council and the “legitimacy of the Novus Ordo Missae,” while remaining attached to the usus antiquior (traditional Roman rite). The priest must: - Find an Ordinary (a diocesan bishop, a major superior of a clerical pontifical institute of consecrated life, a clerical pontifical society of apostolic life, etc.) who is willing to receive him ad experimentum. - Write, in his own hand, a letter to the Holy Father introducing himself and requesting the remission of the censures incurred either because he received priestly ordination from an excommunicated or otherwise canonically irregular …Àteru
Cardinal Pietro Parolin told journalists in Rome today that he does not know when or how the excommunications of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) will take place. “Despite this serious wound I hope that we can find ways to resolve this problem.” He also said that he was "deeply pained" by today's episcopal ordinations: "It is a schismatic act."
From Delia Gallagher: Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, says he is “deeply pained” by the SSPX ordinations today. “It is a schismatic act” he does not know when or how the excommunications will take place. “Despite this serious wound I hope that we can find ways to resolve this problem”
"Modernist Church Kills Everything It Touches: The newly ordained FSSPX Bishop Michael Goldade criticized the Church during today's Vespers: "If the Catholic Church in her tradition brings forth life, the modernist church is a desert. It kills. It kills everything that it touches. It kills the supernatural life. It kills the sources of grace. It dries up everything because it has placed man in the place of God and therefore turned away from the sources of life."
Bishop Michael Goldade of the SSPX says his consecration and that of three other bishops today are signs "of the vitality of Holy Mother the Church."
Uh, the Vatican II documents denies ANYONE is "outside the Church" - it teaches "degrees of communion" for all - Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Jew, Muslim, etc. ALL people are the "People of God" [NOT that I believe any of that!}

The Vatican's Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith on July 2 issued a decree excommunicating the six bishops of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX). The decree also warns clergy and faithful not to adhere to the Fraternity's schism, stating that doing so incurs automatic excommunication. An accompanying explanatory note says that all attempts since Pope Paul VI to reconcile the movement founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre with the Catholic Church have failed. The recent episcopal consecrations against the will of Pope Leo XIV, it says, "constituted the offense of schism, with the resulting canonical consequences for the sacred ministers and lay faithful involved." "The sacred ministers belonging to the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X are in schism and must therefore be considered schismatics." Lay faithful who formally adhere to the Fraternity are likewise to be considered schismatics and excommunicated. The FSSPX clergy administer "the sacraments illicitly": "The …Àteru

Very old argument but stands the test. If St. Paul were here which Mass would he attend? Another old argument but immutable, if you defect from any de fide teachings or deny dogma, you are excommunicated. Official Trailer - Free Reiner - The Film Uncovering the Hidden Story Behind the “Pandemic”. In 2020, as the world grappled with what seemed like an unprecedented health crisis, many of us felt a shift—something bigger than just a virus. But what if the story we were told wasn’t the full truth? What if, beneath the headlines and official reports, there was something far more complex, even darker? This is where Dr. Reiner Fuellmich enters the picture. A respected international lawyer, he refused to accept the narrative at face value. Alongside other experts and legal minds, he launched the Corona Investigative Committee, determined to dig deeper. Their investigations gathered testimonies that challenged the fundamental truths behind the „pandemic“. Fuellmich's conclusion shook many: the COVID crisis, as painted by governments and media, might…
The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) "didn't consider useful the dialogue we've proposed", Cardinal Tucho Fernández, soft porn author and Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, told @Michael Haynes on X.com. Tucho added: "But we hope in future, thanks to the action of the Holy Spirit, it'll be possible. I'm sure, but we'll need time." #newsXnfaezetpr
Bishop Defends Football Screening in Church: Bishop Jean-Louis de Metz-Noblat of Verdun, France, defended in a July 1 video the decision to broadcast the France–Norway football match inside the church of Ligny-en-Barrois. "There were undoubtedly a few cheers, a song of celebration, and some applause, just as happens when a concert is held in a church or when an exhibition takes place in a church. Some people have said to me, 'But a church is a place for prayer.' I dare to hope that, because they were in the church, a number of people were able to pray for the success of their favorite team. I also dare to hope that, by entering a church, some of them discovered a place where perhaps they had never set foot before."
"Rien d'injurieux" : Après la diffusion de France-Norvège dans l’église de Ligny-en-Barrois, l'évéque de Verdun persiste et signe - Dans une vidéo de plus de trois minutes , Monseigneur de Metz-Noblat assume pleinement cette décision et entreprend d'en démontrer le bien-fondé, allant jusqu'à manier une certaine ironie à l'égard des fidèles scandalisés
I can only imagine the "best" view was provided by projecting these images onto the stage -- I mean: sanctuary. "when a concert is held in a church or when an exhibition takes place in a church." Your Excellency, I think that we have found the problem.
A grandson is a sweet kind of voluntary servitude. Maybe that is how God designed it: just when the colors of the world begin to fade, a little miracle appears and lights a fire inside you again, like gasoline poured onto dying embers. A grandson makes us fully human. There is an old saying that only people raise their grandchildren in this way, unlike most creatures in nature. And there is something true in that. That long-forgotten, intoxicating baby smell works on you like magic. Suddenly, you understand your own grandparents—the ones who once embarrassed you, fussed over you, and seemed a little too obsessed. For our children, we were willing to do a lot. For our grandchildren, we are willing to do everything. Now we are exactly like our grandparents were. Maybe even worse. A grandson is medicine for every ache. Back pain? Neck pain? Bad knees? Please. Just wait until you have a grandchild. Somehow, everything starts working again. Not long ago, I could barely get up without complaining …Àteru
On June 13, two homosexual men celebrated a “Mass of Thanksgiving for 50 Years of Friendship, Partnership, and Commitment in the Pursuit of Justice” at Holy Apostles Church in London, England. About 150 relatives and friends of the hardened sinners attended. The two homosexual men, Julian Filochowski and Martin Pendergast, established the Diocese of Westminster's "pastoral ministry" for homosexuals in 1999. The principal celebrant was Fr. Jim O'Keefe, a longtime "friend" of the homosexuals. The concelebrants were Bishop John Crowley, emeritus of the Diocese of Middlesbrough; Bishop John Rawsthorne, emeritus of the Diocese of Hallam; and Canon Chris Vipers, a priest of Holy Apostles Parish. Cardinal Timothy Radcliffe, OP, delivered the homily. While celebrating homosexuality, he also blasphemed against the Holy Trinity, declaring: "I would add that the Son is the friend and the Spirit is friendship. So every true, faithful, well-lived friendship is a sharing in the life of God." After …Àteru
Weather Deteriorated During Episcoapal Consecration: As the consecration began in Écône, a downpour doused the faithful in the field outside the tent. Meanwhile, the organ played Handel's "Lascia ch'io pianga": "Let me weep over my cruel fate, and sigh for freedom."
The Dangerous Price Of Loving Sin The gospel reading highlights the tragic choice people make to reject Jesus, preferring their sins and the devil’s offerings. This rejection is evident in society’s acceptance of sin and the need for a genuine commitment to God’s will. True worship and sacrifice require a heart transformed by God’s love, rejecting sin and embracing holiness. Fr. 15,000 People Attend the Episcopal Consecration: Around fifteen thousand laypeople and a thousand priests and religious currently attend the episcopal consecration in Ecône, Switzerland. During the consecration sermon, Father Davide Pagliarani advanced the strange argument that "we belong to the same Church because we have the same faith," even though the controversy concerns questions of ecclesiastical authority rather than the content of the faith.

Consummatum Est: A Crisis of Unity in the Catholic Church The Priestly Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) has just consecrated four new bishops in Écône, Switzerland, on July 1. They did so despite Pope Leo XIV’s last-minute warning that proceeding without a papal mandate could have serious consequences, including schism. So now the ball is in Rome’s court, and many of us are waiting to see what the Vatican’s official response will be and whether it will formally declare that the SSPX has entered into schism. Naturally, Catholics everywhere are asking the same questions. What does the Church actually teach about this? What does the Code of Canon Law say? On paper, the law is pretty straightforward. Consecrating a bishop without the Pope’s approval is considered a schismatic act and carries a latae sententiae excommunication. That’s the legal side of the discussion. But the SSPX has never denied what the law says. Their argument has always been that extraordinary circumstances create a grave …Àteru
It is a sad tale on both parts of the divide, Tom. Inasmuch as I fully concur with Fr. Murray's remarks in The Catholic Thing, there can be no denying that there has been an willful (arrogant?) clumsiness on both sides not to admit the errors being committed from each side. From where I stand, there is much to commend in the SSPX's problems with the leadership from the Vatican, and, seemingly, dialogue and concessions are being made by the Vatican to factions who are already at odds with the fundamentals of Church teaching while the SSPX, which stands with the bulk of that Orthodoxy, is treated as an unworthy member of the family. Certain positions, elevations, statements, even waffling, by the hierarchy under Pope Francis, and, now, Pope Leo, have appeared to be, at the very least, confusing and, perhaps, even heretical for many of the faithful. We, the laiety, as Archbishop Sheen pointed out, will ultimately save the Church, and, as you mention, the Church, and the Pope, need our …Àteru
