On October 23, gunmen attacked a Greek Orthodox church in Hammoud, near Karak, Jordan, opening fire on Christians attending a funeral. Initial reports indicate seven people were killed and 34 injured, some seriously. Jordanian authorities described the shooting as a terrorist attack. According to Roya News, preliminary assessments suggest the attackers were motivated by extremist Islamist (Takfiri) ideology. The gunmen fled the scene.

On October 20, Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein confirmed that he would not approve legislation allowing abortion. The bill had passed Parliament on September 2 by 13 votes to 12.
